As a newer reef tank you may be experimenting, changing, upgrading, adding bioload and as a result your tank may not be as stable as you think. They are uber sensitive to swings in water parameters, temp, salinity, lighting, flow, ext. But you have a nem that even extremely experienced reef keepers are challenged with keeping. If your tank parameters are stable and your maintenance is also in line you should be able to support a nem. I agree and disagree with the above mentioned advice. Your tank is too “new” for any type of Anemone. I've been in the reed hobby for a bit more than 2 years now and was sure I'm ready for the challenge, but then I rwad up on it. My question is, will I be able to keep it alive? There is a spot almost perfect for it, but space might become a issue (how long will it take to reach 15cm, it is currently at about 7cm). When I got home I read up on it and really started to panic, warnings etc of how difficult it is to keep. Unfortunately they did not have in stock, the guy then suggested a Magnificent anemome (a breathtakingly beautiful green one) he said its not much more difficult to care for etc and I bought it. It's been running for 4 months and I recently started adding Aquavitro seed to help it establish perfectly(even though it has fish in, had them for about 3 weeks now) and obviously wanted an Anemone, I went to my LFS looking for a bubble tip (having read up on it I was ready for the challenge) ![]()
